Landed

Jet lag is a funny thing. You can't decide whether you're up, down, tired, hungry, thirsty or all of the above. Either way, you're just plain upside-down for a few days. I woke up in my hotel room to the sound of horns blasting outside my window and the smell of cooking wafting under my door. I checked for my phone, not here. I reached for my laptop, also not here. Then I remember...I'm not in Kansas anymore. I've arrived to my destination, the wonderful place called India. A feeling of excitement rushes in as all of my wonderful memories of this foreign land come to mind. I am looking forward to what God is going to do in and through me. But this trip will be different. This time, I'm not alone, but accompanied by my sister Grace and her friend Courtney. The three amigas - that's us.

We're also meeting up with my sister Sarah and her husband, Xavier along with our friend Chris. We're quite the team and quite the visual oddity here with the locals.

After 20+ hours of traveling including 2 international flights, 1 domestic and a 5 hour van ride to our hotel, we're feeling rough and looking....eh....worse. Flights were good, we had some excitement as we boarded to find Charlize Theron sitting in first class. I said "Hey Charlize" as if we were ol' chums and she said hi back and then hid behind her magazine, which by the way, was featuring her. But, I admit, I'd read a magazine with myself on the cover too. Then we had 5 air marshals come to our row of seats looking for a gentlemen in a turban who they then escorted off the plane.

So yes, excitement.

We landed in Chennai where we were greeted by two wonderful, smiling faces and it felt so good to give my sister and bro-law a big hug! They've fit right in here. Eating with their hands, bartering for taxis, cooking up some delish cuisine. I've got some catching up to do!

First plan on the agenda - SLEEP! We start our first day tomorrow and I'll catch you up soon!

Blessings!
