This portion of our job description has easily become the most touching. Today was our last "feeding the poor" outreach with Friends Meet Ministries. It's been a powerful 2 months and so much was accomplished - in conjunction with your prayers and support. I feel so blessed to share this post with you. If you'll notice, the majority of these snaps feature men. This day was different than the others. The men that gathered around on the dusty ground caught my attention.
Most churches you'll visit in India will be full of women and children. If you get a few men up the back, then it's a good sign. In some circles, Christianity is considered a "weak religion" and so the men tend to not be interested. Not always, but most often - in my experience. I have a real heart for the men of India to rise up and become strong leaders of their nation and to take ownership and spiritual interest in a whole new way. I am proud to know so many who have already given their all for Christ and are living out His work every day.
As you can see, these men have pain in their eyes, some have traces of pride but others nothing much at all. They ate up the words of life and I watched as it soaked through their dry bones. The power of God can not be denied, no matter what your background, interest or status.

This sweet baby was handed to me by her mother. She was running a high fever and very lethargic. As I held her, I spoke life into her tiny body and rebuked the spirit of death. After a few moments, I handed her back to her mother with a cool brow and open alert eyes. God is healing in India. |
These are the ones on your blog that totally wreck me to pieces...The way you capture the faces and the eyes of the people makes my heart just ache.
ReplyDeleteThen you slam me with the picture of you holding the baby at the end...tears just roll down my face...I can't even convey what I want to say.
I am proud of you and Grace.
